Encinitas In-Home Maternity Session

Ainsley and Adam wanted to keep it simple for their maternity session for their first human child, and that meant doing something that felt natural to them... aka hanging out at home with their many fur children. When I photographed their La Jolla wedding last spring, I gravitated towards their sweet and gentle love for each other and seeing them in their natural environment at home was so special. During this in-home Encinitas maternity session, Adam made us coffee, we watched the winter Olympics, lots of cuddles with their pugs were had while their kitty hid most of the time, and they just soaked up their time together. If you're maybe more private and don't love the idea of strangers watching you take photos out in public spaces, a lifestyle in-home session is definitely the route to go. Here's how to plan your own in-home maternity session:

1. Wear clothes that feel comfy and normal to you. No need to dress to the nines when your band tee is perfect to you.

2. Think about activities that feel true to you? Does your partner make you coffee while you cuddle the pups in your kitchen nook? Like making pizza together? Make it a date night or day, at home!

3. Play your favorite music or have a comfort show on in the background.
